Have you ever wondered where this ship is going or what its name is? Just as there are the famous apps for tracking aircraft, there are other applications in which you can “track” the boats that cross the seas. Obviously you won’t find all the boats, but those of a certain size and those destined for commercial activities, which are obliged to inform in a constant way their position, course and destination. The AIS is the element that allows to emit this information to the respective stations.
There are different applications that you can download for free or view on the web. These are some examples.
Both applications have a paid version where you can consult history, detailed searches, etc… In addition, users can collaborate by adding images of found vessels.
