The Basic Navigation Pattern (PNB) is the nautical title that will allow you to steer a pleasure boat with more attributes and knowledge than those offered with the Navigation License and no previous experience is necessary.

+ What type of pleasure craft will I be able to steer with this certificate?

• Nautical motorcycles of any power.
• Motor boats up to 8 meters in length.
• Sailing boats up to 8 meters in length if the corresponding complementary sailing practices are carried out.

+ Under what circumstances will I be able to sail?

• In relation to nautical motorcycles, within the specific limits of navigation applicable according to their technical characteristics.
• In relation to boats, up to a maximum of 5 miles in any direction from a port, marina or place of shelter, day or night.

+ How is the course structured?

• Theoretical sessions (the time invested will depend on each student) in which the following topics are covered:

1. Nautical nomenclature.
2. Mooring and anchoring elements.
3. Safety at sea.
4. Legislation.
5. Beaconing.
6. International Regulations for Preventing Collisions (RIPA).

• Practical navigation and safety sessions of 8 hours in an approved boat where the concepts learned in the theoretical part will be applied to obtain the motor license.
• Theoretical-practical session of 4 hours of radio-communications.
• Complementary practical sessions of sailing of 16 hours in anapproved boat if you also want to obtain the sailing qualification. These practices will be valid to obtain higher qualifications.

• Maximum 8 students per course.
• It is necessary to pass the theoretical exam to obtain the qualification.
• All practices can be performed before or after the theoretical exam.
• Minimum age of 18 years or 16 years with parental or guardian consent.
• The student must provide a medical certificate of fitness for boating for the processing of the title.
• Once the theoretical and practical sessions have been completed and the student has passed the exam, he/she will be able to apply for the official certificate/license.
• The official license is valid for 10 years, after which it may be renewed with a new medical certificate.

• 350 € for the complete course of Basic Motorboat Pattern, which includes the theoretical and practical sessions and didactic material.
• 525 € for the complete course of Basic Motor and Sailing Skipper, which includes the theoretical and practical sessions and didactic material.
• 61,55 € examination fees.
• 80 € the fees for the issuance of the diploma.
