The Yacht Pattern (PY) is the nautical title that will allow you to steer a recreational motor and sailing boat at long distances from the coast, being necessary to previously hold the title of Patrón de Embarcación de Embarcación de Recreo (PER).

+ What type of pleasure craft will I be able to steer with this certificate?

• Nautical motorcycles of any power.
• Motor boats up to 24 meters in length.
• Sailing boats up to 24 meters in length if the corresponding complementary sailing training is carried out.

+ Under what circumstances will I be able to sail?

• In relation to nautical motorcycles, within the specific limits of navigation applicable according to their technical characteristics.

• In relation to motor and sailing vessels, up to a maximum of 150 miles between the coast and a line parallel to the coast at that distance, during daytime or nighttime hours.

+ How is the course structured?

• Theoretical sessions (the time invested will depend on each student) in which the following topics are covered:

1. Safety at sea.
2. Meteorology.
3. Theory of navigation.
4. Navigation chart.

• 48-hour practical sessions on navigation and safety in a certified vessel.
• Complementary practical sailing sessions of 16 hours in an approved boat if you also want to obtain the sailing license.

+ Information of interest

• Maximum 8 students per course.
• It is necessary to be in possession of the title of Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo (PER).
• It is necessary to pass the theoretical exam to obtain the qualification.
• All motor and sailing practices can be done before or after the theoretical exam.
• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• The student must provide a medical certificate of fitness for boating for the processing of the title.
• Once the theoretical and practical sessions have been completed and the student has passed the exam, he/she will be able to apply for the official certificate/license.
• The official license is valid for 10 years, after which it may be renewed with a new medical certificate.

• 850 € the complete Motor Yacht Skipper course, which includes the theoretical and practical sessions and didactic material.
• 1.025 € the complete course of Motor and Sailing Yacht Skipper, which includes the theoretical and practical sessions and didactic material.
• 92,20 € examination fees.
• 100 € the fees for the issuance of the diploma.
